TOPIC: Annual fees being waived
#1473
Annual fees being waived 10 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
I had a credit card from my bank and I was not able to use it and came another year when they charged an annual fee which I requested them to waive it for I was not able to take advantage of my card. They agreed but when I received my statement they still charged it. Anyone familiar with the procedure to reclaim such charge?

You can call their hotline or go to the bank and discuss such with an in-charge. I've been given such option too for I ask a certain benefit for being a good paying cardholder.

Yeah you would be surprised what they do if you call and complain. Generally they will waive charges if you shout loud enough. I've done this with several banks and got charges credited back to my account right away.

usually the card company would give the first year for free. i haven't tried asking to waive such but i am a good paying cardholder, maybe i should also be given such benefit.

You should first notify the bank about your situation. If they still do not listen to you, send them a formal letter. Then after wards file a complaint.

If we don't us the credit card at all, will it follow that we are able to waive the annual fee?
