TOPIC: Thinking of changing my electric provider
#69
Thinking of changing my electric provider 1 Year, 2 Months ago
I'm thinking of changing my electricity provider but am a bit unsure how the process works. Has anybody done this switch? Was it a smooth process or are their problems?

After doing some research I decided not to switch. In the long run the other providers would be more expensive once you considered all the fees.

Thanks for the response. Yeah I was worried that in all these things there are hidden costs which make changing providers a waste of time.

well if you think its a good idea,, but i am curious on your reason in changing your provider? in my location its a shame that we have only one electric provider(monopoly is common in the place where i live)coz if i can choose then maybe i will change my provider if i am not satisfied with their services..

I am in the same boat. One company monopolizes our entire city, and we live in a huge city. I wish there was an alternative because I would switch in a heartbeat even if I had to pay more. Our co. has the worst customer service I've ever seen, and it always a hassle to deal with them.

It is very complicated and don't you think it is best to just make other way to save from the bill? I guess conserving electric consumption may be a better idea for it than switching to another one.

You have to do a lot of research yourself for changing the provider.
Of course you have to read all their terms and sum up the costs (even the hidden ones).

I have done it and I would do it again. I am saving around 100 a year.

I am always switching energy providers. There is no hassle and no fees to pay. Of course you have to do your research and find out if they are going to offer you cheaper prices, but there are a lot of new customer deals to be had.
