umm... yes. But what I would do personally, is either open your bank account and use your debit card, but BE CAREFUL!!, Or buy a pre-paid Visa (or whatever kind you prefer) credit card.

I've had my card number and account information stolen through the internet a couple times before, and I still don't even know how... But it was alot more trouble than it was worth.

I think your safest option to do online shopping is go ahead and put your money into a bank account, thats way its safe from theives, fire, ect, or even you just losing it.
After you have your money secure in a bank account, buy one of those pre-paid credit cards (they are almost like a gift card), and use that online. That way if anyone should get ahold of your information, they won't be able to drain your whole account, just that one card that has a limit set on it!

Yes its possible but you'll be issued with a credit card for that. They're safer than wire transfers.

Yes, this is certainly possible - from pretty much all the high street banks. You should look around with your parents to see what is the best option for you. Personally I'd go for one of Halifax's accounts, if my memory serves correctly they only do Visa electron for under 18s - but that can be used pretty much everywhere online and in store nowaday, so might be a good option for you.

I have Halifax account and have had it since I was a youngster, and yes, you do get a Visa electron and it can be used in the vast majority of online shops.

I just wanted to congratulate you for being a saver, but don't let this bank account and debit card ruin that for you.

Just register for a Paypal account then link your bank account and credit/debit card with it. That way, when you shop online, you won't have to expose your account information. It's much safer.

As far as now the thread starter has not information, if he or she get a credit card for the bank account.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Go ahead, ask the bank, which your parents have choosen, if they allow you to pay online with your bank account. I believe, they will anaawer most of you question, how and when you are able to do it.

I am personally not a fan of giving credit cards to teenagers, because most of them get in financial problems with.

As far as I know, you can do direct deposits with bank accounts through Europe and this is a lot safer than any credit card. So please ask you bank, which options you have with your new account.

When you shop with Paypal, you are taken to the Paypal site to confirm the purchase using your password. Then the fees is automatically debited in your credit/debit card or bank account.

Paypal is one helpful way to keep your privacy while shopping online. I've tried it and it was good. What are the other ways in paying online without having credit cards?
