How do you minimize your expenses? I am really a person that keeps a monitored lists of all my expenses, maybe because of the kind of field that I am in, an Accountant. I always want to have a clear record of all my finances and would balance it to the last cents.

Same here, I am really disciplining myself to minimize my expenses and save save save. It's like there is no tomorrow. I think it is already part of my system to be tight in all my expenses, which I think is good.

Good for you then..well in my case I give priorities to fixed expenses , such as light, water, phone and house mortgage...and for me I think it work..I mean its effective ..

You are a good spender Merlapaz and how I wish I could apply such but it is not possible especially if you are married and have children to attend to.

I think expenses are easy to monitor but difficult to control. In my opinion, minimizing expenses would mean making your lifestyle simple and just get contented with basic things.

I always see to it that I can distribute my income well. Although there are times that I can't control some expenses, then I have to render overtime in order to cover unexpected expenses.

In my case, I don't handle my savings money so that I won't be tempted to spend them. I give them to my missus.

No matter how I use a strategy to minimize my expenses it can't really go lower. I guess that's the least that I could do for it. But all your ways are good and maybe I could apply some in the future.

that is nice to know MarnieHerald. although i am not an accountant i still have the talent of minimizing my expenses. i got it from my parents who are well disciplined when it comes to handling finances. there is no secret behind it, it is just an matter of correct budgeting and proper savings.

That's good to hear. Yes, anybody can do and understand what an accountant able to do. I'm glad that all the posts here are helpful in anyway there is.
